Ten professors and ministers of the gospel—Michael Barrett, Bruce Baugus, Joel Beeke, Jonathon Beeke, Jerry Bilkes, Mark Kelderman, John Koopman, David Kranendonk, Maarten Kuivenhoven, and Adriaan Neele—offer their collective insight, advice, and guidance on training office bearers.

Dr. Michael Barrett

Dr. Michael P. V. Barrett is Professor of Old Testament at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. He earned his doctorate in Old Testament Text with a special focus on Semitic languages. He is the author of Beginning at Moses, The Gospel of Exodus, and Complete in Him, and served as Old Testament editor for The Reformation Heritage KJV Study Bible.

Dr. Bruce Baugus

Dr. Bruce P. Baugus earned his PhD in Philosophical Theology from Calvin Theological Seminary and taught at Reformed Theological Seminary for fourteen years before joining Puritan Reformed. A Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church in America, he has served as a pastor and teaches internationally. He authored The Historical Roots of Reformed Moral Theology and edited China’s Reforming Churches.

Dr. Joel Beeke

Dr. Joel R. Beeke earned his PhD in Reformation and Post-Reformation Theology from Westminster Theological Seminary. He serves as pastor of Heritage Reformed Congregation in Grand Rapids and is active in publishing and theological education. A prolific author and editor, he has written or co-authored over one hundred books, including Reformed Systematic Theology, Reformed Preaching, and A Puritan Theology.

Dr. Jonathon Beeke

Dr. Jonathon Beeke is Academic Dean and Associate Professor of Historical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. He earned his PhD from the University of Groningen, where his research focused on the twofold kingdom of Christ in Reformed orthodoxy. He is also a ruling elder at Redeemer Orthodox Presbyterian Church in Ada, Michigan, and serves on his presbytery’s candidates and credentials committee.

Dr. Jerry Bilkes

Dr. Gerald Bilkes is Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He earned his PhD from Princeton Theological Seminary and specializes in hermeneutics, the history of biblical interpretation, and conversion in Scripture. His work has included fellowships, including one at the Albright Institute in Jerusalem through the United States Information Agency.

Dr. Mark Kelderman

Dr. Mark Kelderman trained at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary and served for thirteen years as pastor of Heritage Reformed Church in Burgessville, Ontario. He earned a Doctor of Ministry from Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary, specializing in biblical counseling, and is certified with ACBC and IRBC. He continues preaching locally and serves the Christian community through counseling with his wife, Donna.

Rev. John Koopman

Rev. John Koopman has served the Free Reformed Church in Chilliwack, British Columbia, since 2011, after previously pastoring in St. Thomas, Ontario. Ordained in 1999, he trained at the Theological College of the Canadian Reformed Churches. His ministry emphasizes practical, applicatory preaching and the beauty of the Reformed faith, with a focus on the Lord’s centrality in all of life.

Dr. David Kranendonk

Dr. David Kranendonk has served congregations of the Free Reformed Churches of North America and supports theological education through mission boards. He holds degrees from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary, Calvin Theological Seminary, and the Theological University Apeldoorn, where he earned his PhD. He has authored works on pastoral theology, predestination, and Reformed church history studies.

Dr. Maarten Kuivenhoven

Dr. Maarten Kuivenhoven earned his PhD from Calvin Theological Seminary, focusing on Christology, exegetical method, and piety in Reformation and Post-Reformation interpretations of the Messianic Psalms. He also holds degrees from Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary and the University of Western Ontario. An ordained minister in the Heritage Reformed Congregations, he pastored in Grand Rapids from 2010 to 2022.

Dr. Adriaan Neele

Dr. Adriaan C. Neele is Professor of Homiletics and Historical Theology at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary. He holds doctorates in Historical Theology and Homiletics and has taught internationally at universities and seminaries in North America, Europe, and Africa. His research and publications focus on early modern Reformed theology, Jonathan Edwards, and homiletics, and he serves several scholarly organizations.
